Spring Pictures

Yesterday was a big day for Charley. She had Pictures at school, then We went to the doctors to get her Kindergarten check up. Her check up went great until it was time for shots. She went crazy!!! She hid under the table and held on tight to the legs and wouldn't come out and when I did, she wouldn't stand so I could get her pants down. (they needed to do the shots in the leg) And when I did get her pants down she pulled them back up and held on to them. I had to bear hug her and another nurse had to hold down her legs while the other nurse gave her the shots. With all of that going on, she was SCREAMING! It was a workout! Man that girls is strong! But poor thing had 5 shots and a poke in her finger. But that is all done and now she can go to Kindergarten!

Charley's stats: 5 years old
Height: 44"/3ft. 8inches (75%-tile)
Weight: 38 lbs (25%-tile)

Yesterday was also spring pictures at school. And, just like in the fall, I was not willing to spend $20 on 5 pictures. So I took my own. And took some more of the other girls as well, just for practice. I am not professional, nor do I plan to be, but am hoping to be able to be good enough to at least take pictures of the girls. I think they turned out okay! Plus they are perfect subjects, and I really can't go wrong!

The weather is getting warmer, and we are loving the 'play outside for hours' weather!

The Red Dress.....and Easter Dresses

The famous red dress. All of my sisters and I wore this red and white dress for pictures when we were a baby, and now all of my girls and even my niece Bella has worn this dress for pictures. When we went back to Omaha we asked my Aunt Chrissy to take the girls pictures. She is amazing! We love her!

Dani was okay with pictures for the first little bit, then decided that she did NOT want to do it anymore, as evident by her reaction in the last picture. I tried to get her sleep and lay her in a basket, but that didn't work either. But I still think we got a few great shots! Love them! Thanks Chrissy!

My parents got the girls their pretty Easter dresses. They are so cute, just like my girls!

Easter Eggs

Just had to document that Dani was apart of our FHE, sometimes she looks like she is left out, but she was there. She is covered in spit-up, but she was there!

On Monday for FHE we colored eggs. My mom was able to be with us! Yay mom! She drove with me back to UT from NE to help with the girls, then she few back to Omaha. But she was able to color eggs with us while she was here.

Omaha

Last week I went to Omaha with the girls. I had to dance, and the girls got some lovin' from Nana & Grandpa.
It was a busy week. We were able to visit my grandparents on my mom's side.....4 generation picture. My Grandma has a HUGE doll collection, that the girls love looking at.
We also spent time with my grandpa on my dads side. So glad we got to see my grandparents, I have so much family in Omaha, it was sad we couldn't see them all.
We went the to park in downtown Omaha with some HUGE and FAST slides. I remember going down them when we were younger and thinking they were so tall and fast. As I have gone back as an adult they don't look so big now, but they are still fast!!!! ....and we brought some wax paper with us, and we flew down.
The downtown park is called the Gene Leahy Mall. It isn't a 'mall', but a park and walking path/duck pond. But Omaha is filled with art, and had these 'artsy' benches all over the mall. This one was are favorite.
Seriously love this baby!!!...she was perfect the whole week!
And the Joslyn Art Museum also had this new Children's Garden on the outside. It was filled with fun stuff for the kids to look at and do. So we took the girls.

Joslyn is also right next to my old high school. Yay Central High School!!! Go Eagles! I think my high school is a pretty cool looking building.

On the steps outside the front of the museum. I have to laugh at the picture with me and the girls because Dani looks like she does NOT want to be there!

We also got to see cousin Bella!! Always fun to see her!
There was a Rocket Fizz in Omaha, so we went there a few times and had 'soda tastings' almost every night.

We also took the girls on the walking bridge, and while I was dancing one day my parents took the girls to the temple and visitors center.

Besides spending time with family, we also went to Omaha so I could dance. Omaha Public Schools (OPS) invited me to put on a Hoop clinic for their Indian Education program. They had heard I had organized a hoop program here in UT, and wanted me to help them get started with one out there. And since I was there, my dad had me dance for his Native Studies classes at the University of Nebraska Omaha. In total I danced for UNO 5 times. And the hoop clinic was a 3 day thing totaling 10 hours. It was a busy week of Hoop Dancing. The girls were great travelers and had so much fun. It was fun being home.

BYU Pow Wow

A few weeks ago we went to the BYU Pow Wow. We go every year. And ever since Charley was born, I have had the girls dance in tiny tots. We got lucky this year with the girls regalia. The two older girls regalia still fit from last year, and I still had Charley's from when she was a baby, which fit Dani perfectly. We had the girls dance in two of the tiny tot dances. With the money they earned they each picked out a necklace to buy at the vendors....even Dani got one!

Charley was a little shy, and really didn't want to dance. I had her anyway because I new she would get upset if Gabby got money and got to buy something and she didn't. But this is the last year I think she can really dance in tiny tots, so if she wants to keep dancing she'll have to start competing. But we'll see what she wants to do next year.

Gabby on the other hand was loving it! She had on her little traditional Southern cloth dress doing fancy....and she was pretty dang cute doing it too!

And Dani just looked cute and got her money!

We'll hit up a few more pow wow's this summer. Maybe I'll even dance in a few!!

I didn't get a whole lot of pictures of the girls....my sisters and mom got more....maybe you could email me some?! I did get one of Dani in Charley's old dress. What a cutie!
