Kids Fun Run

Last year I ran the Thanksgiving Point Half Marathon.  As I was sitting in the field next to the finish, I saw a bunch of kids crossing the finish line.  I hadn't realized that there was also a kids one mile fun run going on at the same time.  It was the cutest thing!  They all had their new t-shirts on, with numbers and all got finishers medals. I decided that the next year I wanted our girls to run it.  So a few weeks ago, I signed Charley and Gabby up. They were so excited to pick up their race packet the day before and see all the goodies they got.  Aunt Kay even came with us in the morning to watch them.  The only problem was that it was cold and rainy.  But that didn't burst their bubble.  They did an awesome job!  They ran the whole way, and for the most part ran holding hands. I love making running a family affair!

In a few weeks the elementary is having their 5K, that they are also super excited for!

We are so proud of our girls!

2 wheels

Gabby's got some Big news!!  Her training wheels are off!  This girl now rides on 2 wheels!  It only took her 2 minutes with Dad's help to figure it out, and she was off!

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter from the Schramm's!

We are so blessed to have these three crazy and beautiful girls!  And we are so grateful for the Savior and all that he has done for us, and blessed us with.

Easter eggs

I found a glitter Easter Egg kit, and for some reason, thought it would be a good idea.  It wasn't bad, but glitter was everywhere!  But the girls had fun.

Beach house ~ Spring Break Edition

This summer is going to be busy.  So our annual summer beach trip was going to have to be a no go, until we decided to try to head out for Charley and Gabby's spring break.  It worked out great because Aunt Mel and Uncle Dean from Texas were able to come out that same week as well.  Plus Cal and Courtney and Char and Jared were also able to come out!  We missed the Barttlet Bunch and Schrammpa and Schramma of course.  Charley and Gabby missed playing with AV and KD, and we were sad to miss out on meeting little Miss Maybelle.  But we'll have to make a special trip to see them later.

We started the trip with Dani getting sick.  We tried to keep her from people, but when you are in one house, it is kinda hard.  So a few other people got sick, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  Most of the people who got it, only felt sick, and didn't actually get sick.  It was Charley and Kyler who got it really bad.  And Kyler only had it for a day or two....Charley was sick from Tuesday to Sunday.  But she had pockets of time where she felt better to head out to the beach.  Despite the sickies, it was a really fun trip.

Thursday Night we headed over to Wilmington to get some Ice Cream and walk on the Boardwalk.  I think Ben has a picture of Gabby.  But she was trying to put her coat on at the same time she was getting out of the car.....so her arm was stuck in her sleeve when she tripped out of the car and fell with no arms to catch her.  She bonked her head on the curb, and got a huge goose egg above her eye, and ended up with a big black eye.

We left the beach house Friday afternoon, and spent Saturday in Charlotte with Cal and Courtney.  They watched our girls while Ben and I went on a long run for our marathon.  Then we went to a fun kids library, and a few parks, we even caught the beginning of a bike race that was in downtown Charlotte.

We loved our week in NC, can't wait until we get to go back.....I hope it is sooner rather than later!

Toothpaste

Tonight I sent the girls upstairs to get ready for bed.  Five minutes later Gabby comes running down the stairs and asks,
"Mom, does toothpaste kill you if you eat it?"

Me: "No"

Gabby: "What about, does it make you sick?"

Me: "No"

Gabby: "phew"

Gabby turns and runs up the stairs and I hear her tell Charley in that Gabby 'matter of fact' tone that she likes to talk in...

"Mom said it doesn't kill you OR make you sick. You were wrong."

It was pretty funny.  I can only imagine what Charley was up there trying to convince Gabby of before hand. The big sister tormenting the little sister.

Like when I was a kid I was told that if someone hit you in the back while your eyes were crossed, they would stay crossed forever.

Guess What?!

We are officially diaper free at our house!!!

Dani has been potty-trained for a week or so now.  But last night she informed me that she didn't like pull-ups, and slept without one last night, and kept her underwear on. She has only had one accident in the last 2 weeks.  But she is excited to be a big girl!  She was super easy to potty train.  Day 1 and 2 were the hardest, but after day 3, she was pretty much done.  My easiest one yet!

One funny fact: When Dani has to go #2, she has to have it quiet.....she will shush you if you are not! She has to concentrate.  It is hilarious!  Sometimes I make noise just to get her all worked up!

BYU pow wow & Hoop Debut

Charley's old hoop/fancy regalia was getting a bit small, so it got passed down to Gabby. Which meant that Charley got a new one!  I am a little proud of it!  It has an Omaha design on it!
 And the back!
 Gabby getting ready to dance.

And Dani made her hoop debut!  She has come with me the past few practices to hoop class, and said she wanted to dance. So we let her.  She mostly just wanted to spin and dance.  I had to tell her to pick the hoops up.  But when she did, she just spun with the hoops in her hand.  However, she did make two formations.  I think we can call that a success!

And of course, Charley. She looked cute in her new regalia.
