Baptism Day

Friends and Family who came: Jesse Alba family, Fritzsche Family, Durtschi Family, Forbes Family, Shorten Family, Sister Humphrey, Aunt Kay, Uncle Ira, Aunt Liz, Bishop Reeve, Grandpa Z, Nana, Aunt Jordan, Aunt Lexi, and Schramma & Schrammpa via Skype all the way from Chile!!

Charley was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on January 3, 2015 by her dad.  It was extra special because it was also her birthday!  Before the baptism we had a lunch with all her friends and family who went to the baptism.  We are so blessed to have so many close friends that were able to come, and for all the family that was able to make it.  Even Schramma and Schrammpa.  They were able to watch the program through our phone on Skype from their mission in Chile.  We had to turn the camera away when they performed the actual ordinance, but they were still able to hear everything. We are so grateful for technology, and that she was able to have all her grandparents there. And after the baptism we all headed back to our house for cake and ice cream to celebrate her birthday!  Her friend Michael was also there, who happens to have the same birthday as her, and were able to sing to both of them.

We are so proud and happy with Charley's decision to be baptized.  She is such a great blessing to our family, we love her so much. She has such a sweet spirit, we know she will bless the lives of all that get to know her.

*Charley has been taking piano lessons for the last few months and was able to learn a song to play at her baptism, "I like my Birthday's".

  1. 1. I like my birthdays, ev'ry one;
    Each brings a greater joy to me.
    But I can't wait until I'm eight,
    For then I'll be baptized, you see.
  2. 2. To be baptized as Jesus was
    By one who holds the priesthood true
    And thus obey God's holy laws
    Is just the thing I want to do.
  3. 3. When hands are laid upon my head,
    Then I'll receive the Holy Ghost.
    And, if I listen carefully,
    I'll have the blessing I need most.

It's Great to be 8

Hermana Zendejas

January 1, 2015....Sister Hermana Zendejas returned home from her Mission in Argentina! She flew into the SLC airport because my parents were going to be out here for Charley's baptism.  It was fun to be able to greet her at the airport!  Welcome Home Lexi!
